We
are owners of 1,127 homes in 10 HOAs surrounding the
Heather
Ridge
golf course in
Aurora
,
Colorado
. We organized in the spring of 2005 with the objective to prevent
development and preserve the golf course; to protect the open space, property
values and quality of life of our neighborhood. Circumstances threatening this
mission lead us to form a metro tax district in November of 2006, tax ourselves
and buy the asset in November 2009.
The UAHR is organized in three action groups:
IDAG = Influencing Development Action Group --
Accomplishment:
Golf course
rezoned from Multi-Family to PLANNED DEVELOPMENT - GOLF COURSE - unanimous
approval by Aurora City Council December 2, 2006.
This rezoning was accomplished with the aid of legal council Thomas J. Ragonetti - Otten Johnson
| and actions of developer Jim Johnson - Iliff Land & Golf LLC.
This is our Reactive
Group -- vigilant, attentive and watchful of any activity or
rumors contrary to preserving the Heather Ridge golf course. Any rumors or
activity divergent to our primary mission should be reported immediately to this group.

SDAG = Special District Action Group -- Accomplishments:Accomplishments:
This group successfully worked with the community resulting in an
overwhelming (85% in favor),
land slide approval to form the HRMD01 (Heather Ridge Metropolitan District No.
1) in the November 7, 2006 election. Approval
to fund the HRMD01 was also approved in an overwhelming vote from the resident
owners by 86% in the October 9, 2007 polling.
Formerly named GCAAD Golf Course Acquisition Action Group -- This is our Pro-Active
Group -- This group formed the special district with the aid of our legal
council White, Bear & Ankele, PC.
The objective of this group is to
control the long range future of the golf course and neighborhood. --
In November of 2009 the HRMD01
purchased the golf course because "NOW THAT WE OWN IT, WE CONTROL
IT".
GMOR = Group Maintenance & Organizing Residents -- This group is
organized to keep the members of the homeowner associations informed &
request volunteer assistance and expertise from within our community. Tom

Support the Heather Ridge facilities * * *
The
UAHR board and HOA representatives encourage Heather Ridge, community wide,
participation among
homeowners and others to enjoy golf course & club social membership.
The financial success of the Heather Ridge facilities is consistent with the
objectives and mission of UAHR & it is a great gathering place for the
neighborhood.
